We are a group of parents, trying to support our children and teachers to have the best experience at Scantabout Primary School
The PTA often gets a bad rep (motherland anyone?) but really we’re just a group of parents who want the best for our kids.
We know our teachers are busy, so if we can volunteer our time to give them back some of theirs, that’s what we want to do.
We hear school budgets have been cut, and we want to help the school continue to offer enrichment activities like art and music!
We see how much fun kids have at the discos, the summer fayres and school grottos, and we want every child to continue to have those fun events.
How can you help?
They say it takes a village to raise a child, so lets make Scantabout a tribe of parents, grandparents, friends, siblings who are all working together to raise our children in the best community possible.
Every little bit of support helps!
- Can you come to a meeting and bring some fresh ideas
- Could you keep an eye out for parents present ideas
- Could you write grant applications to get even more funding
- Maybe you’re a keen gardener and can help keep the grounds tidy
- Perhaps you love social media and can help respond to messages
- Maybe you’d love to volunteer at a disco or other event
Theres a role for everyone! And it doesn’t have to take up much of your time. Many of us have full time or part time jobs alongside our work with the SSA.
Our Structure
We are a small but mighty team all pitching in with various roles.
Candice is Chair, part-time marketing manager and mum to 2 exuberant kids.
Anna is Treasurer, super nurse in her day job and working hard to manage our donations and expenditures.
Lou is Secretary, full-time marketing guru and branding queen.
We have other members of the team managing our communications, school grounds, special events, fayres, uniform and more! We always welcome anyone no matter how much time they can bring so don’t feel shy, get in touch!
AGM
As a charitable organisation we hold an AGM once a year to keep ourselves accountable to school, and the students we serve.
